One overlooked aspect of Spielberg is that he’s actually a stealth master of the long take. From Duel to Tintin, for forty years, he has sneakily filmed many scenes in a single continuous shot. If you love visual comedy, you gotta love Edgar Wright, one of the few filmmakers who is consistently finding humor through framing, camera movement, editing, goofy sound effects and music. This is an analysis and an appreciation of a director so awesome that Marvel had to fire him on a holiday. For educational purposes only. There are filmmakers we love and then there’s Michael Bay. Even if you dislike him (as I do), Bay has something valuable to teach us about visual perception. This is an exploration of “Bayhem” — his style of camera movement, composition and editing that creates something overblown, dynamic and distinct. For educational purposes only. Joel Almeida, a brand new pastor from Community Praise Center, would like to learn how to hone his skills in leading out in special services of the church such as baptisms, communion services, and graveside services. He is invited to spend a few days with seasoned preacher Charles Tapp, Senior pastor of Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church. We watch as Pastor Almeida is mentored by Elder Tapp for a few days. We watch Joel astounded by how much work goes into the preparation of a communion service and happily surprised by the high attendance during the service. Later we see Joel drop by a mortuary and graveyard as he gleans wisdom from Charles on the importance of the ministry of presence. Finally Joel puts on a baptismal robe and learns firsthand about the technical details of performing a flawless baptism. Finally pastor Almeida returns to Community Praise Center thinking about how he will be doing his own special services in the future.

BARCELONA in Flow-Motion - A fast moving short film…. In few other cities is it possible to walk from spectacular location to spectacular location. I had a fantastic time adventuring around Barcelona’s winding streets making this film. Special thanks to Ferran Macià Edo and his colleagues from Agència Catalana de Turisme (Catalan Tourism Board) for helping me get access to shoot at numerous stunning locations including: Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya Gran Teater del Liceu Sagrada Familia Museu D’Historia De Barcelona Palau de la Música Santa Maria del Pi And an extra special thanks to Marta Garriga Bardalet for patiently modelling during an uncharacteristically cold and rainy day. I’m late in discovering Nick Hanauer.  It is surprising and refreshing to see and hear a member of the 0.1% percent argue consistently and persuasively against his own self-interest (and against so-called conventional wisdom) when it comes to taxes.
